This program also targets individuals interested in learning about the EAC integration, understanding the status, opportunities and challenges of the EAC integration.
The training program will be held at the EAC- Nyerere Centre for Peace Research in Arusha, Tanzania from 24th March – 4th April.
The course structure will consist of class work, guest speakers and independent research. In addition, the program will include visits to various institutions in Arusha especially the international and regional organizations.
The course will aim to answer the central question: How are governance practices linked with conditions for war and peace? It will also discuss the role of intergovernmental organizations in the management of conflicts situation and promotion of good governance.
Special attention will be paid on the East African Community vis a vis powerful individual states such as the US, the UK, France and China.
It will analyze the lessons learnt through case studies in the Great Lakes Region, in Africa and around the World.
This will help practitioners, policy makers and students develop policies in strengthening best practices in governance to establish effective peace within the EAC.

Application requirements: -
Limited scholarships are available for East African citizens from EAC universities who meet the requirements. The scholarship will cover program related expenses such as tuition fees, meals and accommodation for the duration of stay in Arusha.
Other individual applicants within the meaning of junior professional interested in attending this programme will pay minimum tuition fee of USD 500 and cater for their own accommodation and transport costs to the training programme.
