Centre for Rural Policy Research
University of Exeter
The Centre for Rural Policy Research is a cross-disciplinary research centre based in the Department of Politics in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Exeter.
Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD Studentship on "Developing Wood Fuel in the South West: Opportunities and Constraints".
The Studentship is funded by Great Western Research (GWR) with Clinton Devon Estates, and offers annual fees (at the Home/EU rate of £3,300) and maintenance of £12,300 per annum (both rates quoted at 2007/08 level).
The scholarships are open to both UK/EU citizens as well as citizens applying from outside the EU.
Should an award be given to a non-EU citizen, then note that fees will only be reimbursed at the EU rate (leaving a shortfall of £5,850).
Candidates with a background in Natural Resource Economics and/or Sustainable Development are particularly encouraged to apply.
Supervisors: Professor Michael Winter (University of Exeter) and Professor Geoff Hammond (University of Bath)
Closing date for applications: February 19th
