The consortium comprises the 5 following universities:
The course component of SUSCOS for the PhD and Specialization programmes (1 year) takes place at the University of Coimbra.
The PhD thesis can be developed at any of the partner universities.
The SUSCOS doctoral programme has a minimum duration of three academic years.
A period of lectures is followed by a research period which outcomes in a Doctoral Thesis.
The lectures will take place each year in different organisation members of the Doctoral Program (two each year).
The Doctoral Thesis (PhD Thesis) will be performed in any of the partner institutions, depending on the topics and the request from the students.
The Erasmus Mundus program of the European Commission awards a limited number of scholarships for non-European students to follow the SUSCOS Program.
Twelve students from overseas are to be awarded with the Erasmus mundus grant covering the expenses for studies (tuition) & maintenance.
The application for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship does not need to be done separately.
When you apply in the first application round (generally between September and December of the year preceding the start of the academic year), you can indicate that you also apply for the EM scholarship.
The SUSCOS coordination selects the top students from the applicants and passes these names to the European Commission for award of the scholarships.
