Master Scholarships in Diagnosis and Repair of Buildings: The European Master of Diagnosis and Repair of Buildings (EMDiReB) is a postgraduate university programme, supported by the European Commission through the Erasmus Mundus Programme.

It is a one-year-and-a-half masters course (90 ECTS in three semesters of 30 ECTS each), focused on diagnosis, repair, rehabilitation and improvement of buildings and urban spaces.

Objectives

The training offered has the following objectives:

  • To provide solid core training for specialists, which will prepare them to undertake the diagnosis, repair, rehabilitation and improvement of buildings and urban spaces.
  • To provide integral training to enable specialists to write reports and projects, technically supervise construction work and carry out executive management activities associated with the processes involved.
  • To provide more advanced training, drawing together the knowledge and experience accumulated by three European universities in such important fields as building diagnosis and repair.

    The consortium contributes and enriches the programme with three different areas of specialization associated with complementary aspects of architectural activity.

  • Politechnika Lubelska (PL). Poland

    Application Procedure

    All applications for admission will be forwarded only by mail to the Co-ordinating Institution (University of Seville) for processing.

    The application form is available for downloading on the EMDiReB Website and the documents must be attached translated into English, Spanish, Italian or Polish (The original documents will be required after the selection process).

    Admission Criteria

    Candidates for the EMDiReB Master must hold:

    An university qualification corresponding to an academic course of at least four years' duration (equivalent to 240 ECTS credits) in Architecture or Civil Engineering.

    Language skills:

    English:

    candidates from countries where English is not one of the official languages, must evidence their knowledge of English by proving that they have received their education in English or with a language certified level equivalent to B2 using the CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

    Knowledge of, at least, one of the European languages of the Consortium (Spanish, Italian or Polish): equivalent to level B2 using the CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

    Selection criteria

    Additional Merits:

    Those candidates for the EMDiReB Master who come up to the Admission Requirements will be ranked according to:

  • (25%) Academic excellence.
  • (20%) Adequation of the student's background with the field of the Master Course.
  • (20%) Relevant work experience related to the field of the Master Course.
  • (10%) Student motivation and relevance to his/her professional development.
  • (10%) Recommendation from the references.
  • (10%) Language skills higher than those requested in Admission Requirements
  • (5%) Others

    Application Procedure

    The application form is available for downloading on the EMDiReB Website and the following documents must be attached translated into English, Spanish, Italian or Polish:

    Officially certified copies and translations of the student’s diplomas and grades.

    A complete and up-dated curriculum vitae (Europass CV is recommended).

    Letter of motivation (in English or Spanish) of the student explaining why he/she has selected the Master and describing purposes and interests.

    Letter of recommendation Proof of level of English (the accepted certificates are TOEFL, IELTS, University of Cambridge Certificates, etc).

    Official certificate of level for the languages spoken in the countries in which the course modules are to be studied (Spanish, Italian or Polish).

    Administrative papers: a copy of a valid ID document (passport, identity card, etc).

    Erasmus Mundus Scholarships There are Erasmus Mundus scholarships for third-country students.

    Only candidates who have applied to and have been accepted by the EMDIREB Consortium in accordance with its specific students' application and selection criteria, are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship in EMDIREB.

    The duration of the scholarship is that of EMDIREB master course.

    The consortium decides who receives an Erasmus Mundus scholarship on the basis of CVs, study and academic merits, motivation, recommendations, language skills, etc.

    The European Commission confirms the list of the selected students and assigns the grants.

    The European Commission offers 8 + 1 scholarships for Non European Students (Category A Scholarships).

    The total amount is 31.000 euros.

  • 8.000 EUR - travel and general expenses
  • 7.000 EUR - registration fees (participation costs, including insurance)
  • 16.000 EUR (1.000 EUR x 16 months) - monthly living allowance
