The MA focuses on issues of social and cultural difference, power, policy and social justice.
The programme also offers opportunities for short internships working in relevant government and voluntary organizations dealing with diversity and equality issues.
As with other Masters programmes the course is delivered through a blend of core and optional modules, followed by a dissertation of the student's choosing.
Core modules: include Key Issues in Identity Politics and Policies and Research Training Modules.

Comparative Social Policy; 'Community', Conflict and Social Policy; Crime, Deviance and Social Control; Gender and Social Policy, Current Issues in Gender and Development; Disability Policy, Identity and Society; Encountering Development: Why Gender Matters; Feminism, Politics and Power; Gender Bodies, Gendered Selves; Other(ed) Bodies:
Anthropology of Gender and Sexual Diversity.
