Job Title: Assistant Manager - Facilities
Department: Operations & Customer Service
Grade: MG 5
Location: Nairobi Posta House (GPO)
Reporting Relationship: Manager/Facilities Management
Supervision: Technical Valuer and Superintendent of Works
Job Objective
Coordinate PCK assets utilization and enforcing leases.
Key Responsibilities
Implement maintenance schedules for all PCK facilities.
Assist in the preparation of necessary tender documents and evaluation of building projects.
Design, implementation and supervision of building works.
Advice on and prepare corrective designs for maintenance and conversion works.
Prepare budgets for construction and maintenance works.
Develop and implement maintenance programmes on the Corporation's premises.
Provide advice on the administration and commercial use of land and property.
Establishing rental rate by surveying local rental rates; calculating overhead costs, depreciation, taxes, and profit goals.
Undertaking negotiation leases with the property owners.
Coordinate the collection of rents, paying bills and rates.
Coach and mentor staff for maximum productivity.
Coordinate acquisition of title deeds and lease certificates for the Corporation.
Qualifications
Possess a minimum of relevant Bachelors degree in Land Economics, or Building Economics and construction, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or its equivalent from a recognized university
Must have diploma in building construction or relevant field
Be able to co-ordinate implementation and supervision of building works ensuring good quality work, timely completion within planned budget.
Must be able to prepare estimates for building works.
Must have all round knowledge of various building disciplines e.g. electrical, construction and plumbing etc.
At least 5 years experience in building and construction works.
Be able to access and advise on required maintenance from time to time.
Be able to prepare periodic reports on all works in progress within area of jurisdiction.
Must be computer literate.

Job Objective
To examine every aspect of a building and the surrounding land to determine its monetary value.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advice on the administration and commercial use of land and property.
Carryout negotiation of leases with the owners and tenants.
Undertake the collection of rents from tenants paying rates.
Coach and mentor staff for maximum productivity.
Undertaking inspection affixed and loose assets, analyzing the collected data, preparing and producing timely and detailed reports and valuation.
Ensure that policies on property management are effective to maximize investment returns.
Supervising and directing repair and maintenance of property
Liaising with County Authorities and Central Government in securing title deeds and lease certificates for the corporation.
Qualifications
Possess a minimum of relevant Bachelors degree in land economics, or building Economics and construction, civil engineering or its equivalent from a recognized university.

Be able to interpret drawings and specifications and supervise work on site.
Be able to co-ordinate implementation and supervision of building works ensuring good quality work, timely completion within planned budget.
