JITIHADA Business Plan Competition

JITIHADA Business Plan Competition is a national initiative of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Competitiveness Project of the Ministry of Industrialization.

The competition seeks to identify growth oriented and innovative business ideas that can be nurtured into viable and sustainable enterprises in order to create wealth for the businesses and increase employment opportunities for the people of Kenya.

Business innovation and entrepreneurship are critical pillars for catalyzing the growth of MSMEs in Kenya, in the same way that financial access and a conducive business environment contribute to the growth of the sector.

Innovative business ideas help to generate new and differentiated markets and add value to the unique goods or services being sold.

Well trained business entrepreneurs on the other hand are better prepared to operate businesses optimally and profitably and help spur competition and productivity.

Eligibility:

Any Kenyan resident over the age of 18 who seeks to invest in Kenya by starting a new business venture, or expanding or diversifying an already existing business.

However, employees of the JITIHADA consortium are NOT allowed to participate.

Existing businesses which have less than 99 employees at the time of application.

Entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, associations, limited companies or partnerships.

Prizes:

The top entrepreneur will receive a prize of KShs. 1 million, while the second and third winners will receive KShs.750, 000 and Ksh.500, 000 respectively.

Special Awards of Kshs.250 000 each will go to the best Woman Entrepreneur and the Social Entrepreneur.
