AsiaGlobal Fellows Program Grants for Mid-Career Professionals

Program Structure

The AsiaGlobal Fellows Program accepts up to 16 participants for each annual cohort. Primarily based in Hong Kong, it is a 13-week residential program.

Lectures by Scholars and Seasoned Leaders: Weekly lectures and discussion sessions by academic, policy, business and civil society leaders from Hong Kong and around the world.

Organizational Visits and Networking Opportunities: Local visits to different organizations to interact with leaders from all walks of life.

Study Tours to Asian Capitals: Study trips to different cities in mainland China and/or other Asian cities to gain first-hand experience in Asian cultures and perspectives.

Leadership Skills Workshops: Training on a broad range of leadership skills by top professionals.

Knowledge Crossover with HK Community at Large: Ample opportunities to share knowledge and expertise through different platforms on and beyond HKU campus.

Mentorship of HKU Undergraduates: Fellows will provide mentorship and career counselling to HKU undergraduates and host lectures and seminars for knowledge exchange.

Intra-Fellows Seminars: Weekly sessions for mutual learning and exchange among fellows.

Policy Research: A policy research paper on a topic of his/her choice is required of each fellow. Personalized guidance will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

For applicant's application to be considered, applicants must:

Language Requirements: As an AsiaGlobal Fellow, applicants will have the opportunity to attend talks and lectures by noted academics and business practitioners, which will be conducted in English.

Applicants will be required to answer three essay questions in applicant's application. Applicants will also be asked to write a policy research paper during applicants time as a fellow.

As such, applicants will need to have a high-level of proficiency in English reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
