Welcome to this issue.
Below are interesting scholarship updates covering mostly master's level studies but also PhD and undergraduate level. A. Scholarships & Grants 1. Masters in Security and Mobile Computing Scholarships The Masters in Security and Mobile Computing Scholarships enable students to study at two of the five Nordic partner universities. Admission criteria to the programme is a high quality Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Information technology) or equivalent studies. It must be a degree of at least three years of full-time studies. Click here for details.
2. Erasmus Mundus Masters in Journalism and Media Scholarships Highly qualified students from a wide range of countries are admitted for this programme. Applicants will normally be admitted if they have a BA or equivalent and the equivalent of at least three months fulltime work as a professional journalist. Click here for details.
3. Master PhoenixEM Dynamics of Health and Welfare Scholarships The European Commission offers Master PhoenixEM Dynamics of Health and Welfare Scholarships every year. Students from 'third countries' (non- EU countries) participating in the programme enjoy generous grants of 1600 euros per month for the duration of the course. Click here for details. 4. Chinese Government Scholarships The Chinese Government Scholarships cover all levels of studies - Undergraduates, Master degrees and Doctoral degrees. Applicants for undergraduate studies must have completed senior high school with good grade and be under the age of 25. Click here for details. 5. The Google 2006 Australia Anita Borg Scholarship The Google 2006 Australia Anita Borg Scholarship encourages women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders. A group of female undergraduate and postgraduate students will each receive a $5,000 AUD scholarship for the 2007 academic year. Click here for details. 6. European Masters in Informatics Scholarships The two-year European Masters in Informatics Scholarships are provided by the Erasmus Mundus Programme. Applicants with degrees in Computer Science, Education, Electrical Engineering, Psychology, Mathematics, Philosophy, and Physics will be considered. Click here for details. 7. Newby Trust Awards - UK The Newby Trust makes awards of between £250 and £1000 per year to students in UK. Any applicants whose first degree is not from a UK university must have commenced their postgraduate studies before applying. Click here for details. 8. The Hodgkin Scholarship The Hodgkin Scholarship is given to students from Developing Countries where they cannot receive higher education for political or social reasons. The scholarship is for study at the University of Bristol. Click here for details. 9. Postgraduate Research Scholarships in Italy Scholarships (approximately euro 11000 per year, renewable for three years) are available. For the class entering in 2006-07, up to 9 scholarships will be awarded. Click here for details. 10. PhD Scholarships in Agricultural Sciences The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Hohenheim is offering at least 7 - 10 scholarships for Ph.D. students in its postgraduate studies. The programme starts in 1 January 2007. Click here for details. 11. PhD-Student International Economics The Institute for Economic Policy of the Department of Economics and Business Administration at Leipzig University is offering a position as; Research Assistant/PhD-Student. The position will first be filled for two years. A prolongation is possible. Click here for details.
12. International Dissertation Research Fellowships The International Dissertation Research Fellowships program supports full-time graduate students in the humanities and social sciences who are enrolled in doctoral programs in the United States, regardless of citizenship, conducting dissertation research outside the United States. 13. PhD Research Scholarships - Switzerland The scholarships - 3 years in duration, are available immediately, and are open to all nationalities. They are supported by either the Swiss National Science Foundation or the ETH. Click here for details.
14. PhD Scholarship - development of textural anisotropy Candidates with excellent first degrees in the areas of physics, mathematics, computer science and geophysics are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
