Welcome to this week’s issue. I am very proud of the opportunity to serve you. My mission is simple. To bring African students all scholarship opportunities available around the globe. You no longer have to waste months of valuable time surfing the Net to find them. My website has of hundreds of links and contact details of organisations that will give you a scholarship or grant. I offer all this absolutely free! Not only that, I am in the process of going through the major scholarships in the website. I will record the closing dates of scholarships and grants available all year round. By looking at my diary every week, I will notify you of all upcoming deadlines. Once again, this will be delivered to your mail box free of charge! All I ask of you is to take time in the website and study the opportunities carefully to determine your eligibility. I also have got great news for writers, artists and those who are good at poetry. I now have a page dedicated to various international exhibitions, competitions and contests. Please study these and participate. No doubt you will be able to take your gifts and talents to the next level.
A. Scholarships & Grants 1. Australian National University Undergraduate Scholarships Several full undergraduate tuition scholarships are available for students from any country. These scholarships are meant for international students who are immediate school leavers. Click here for details. 2. Undergraduate Scholarships in Medicine The Latin American School of Medical Sciences offers scholarships for undergraduate study in medicine. Applicants need to be high school graduates who are 18 to 25 years old and from disadvantaged backgrounds. Click here for details.
3. MA in European Public Health Scholarships Students from all around the world with different subject backgrounds are welcome to apply for MA in European Public Health Scholarships. Students study at Andalusian School of Health, Granada, Spain and Sheffield University, UK. Click here for details. 4. M.A. Economics of International Trade and European Integration Scholarships About 12 places are reserved for third-country students and 4 places for third-country scholars who are granted Erasmus Mundus M.A. Economics of International Trade and European Integration Scholarships. Click here for details. 5. New Zealand Development Scholarships New Zealand Development Scholarships are offered to candidates from Kenya and other African countries every year. Preference is given to applicants from disadvantaged communities. Scholarships are offered for postgraduate study at the Postgraduate Diploma, Masters or Doctorate (PhD) levels. 6. European Master in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management Scholarships These scholarships are offered by European Commission. The Lead university is the Danish University of Education (DPU), Copenhagen, Denmark. Click here for details. 7. Barakat Trust and Bakarat Foundation Scholarships The Barakat Trust and Bakarat Foundation Scholarships are open to applicants worldwide. Over 7 categories of scholarships are given with amounts ranging from £ 1000 - £ 13 500. Support is given for a diverse range of projects, programmes and studies. Click here for details. 8. Charles Pick Fellowship The Charles Pick Fellowship seeks to give support to the work of a new and, as yet, unpublished writer of fictional or non-fictional prose. The award amount is £10,000. International Erotic Art Competition This international competition aims to become one of the "largest erotic art competitions in the world", showcasing fine erotic artworks. It is dedicated to both artists and those who truly admire the sensuality of this art genre. Click here for details. 10. National Water Research Institute Fellowships - USA The National Water Research Institute Fellowships gives up to $15,000 a year per student to support graduate work (master's or doctoral) related to water resources. Emergency Small Grants Programme - UK This provides emergency small grants to students who have come from Africa to study in the UK but run into unexpected financial difficulties in their last few months of study. Click here for details. 12. Andrzejewski Memorial Fund This fund supports language research and development, journalism, broadcasting and education in the Horn of Africa. Click here for details.
13. The Rex Collings Memorial Fund The Rex Collings Memorial Fund provides grants to support writing and publishing in Africa. Click here for details.
14. PhD Research Studentship Hydrodynamics Applications are invited for a research studentship leading to a PhD in Hydrodynamics at City University, London. The studentship is offered averagely at the rate of £12,000 per year, plus tuition fees. Click here for details.
15. PhD Studentship Biological Sciences, University of Hull - UK Candidates for the PhD position should have a Diploma/Masters degree or equivalent and ideally should have experience in molecular, biochemical or cellular biology work. Click here for details.
16. PhD Studentships Chemistry, University of Leicester - UK Applications are invited for PhD studentships, starting October 2006. About 25 - 30 studentships are available. Click here for details. 17. PhD Studentships at Glamorgan Business School - UK Glamorgan Business School is seeking to award a number of PhD studentships. Successful candidates will receive a bursary of £5,000 pa for up to three years together with paid teaching and student support activities that should bring annual incomes up to around £12,000 pa.
